  • Maximizing Points during Viking Guide by Twighlight Sparkle
    N NEW_Gandalf

    Important things to know:

    • Infantry kills first, then Cavalry, then Archers
    • This is why your archers might get kills at home on higher levels (Empty cities = more points for everyone in your city)
    • Your personal city points remain the same no matter what
    • Many have too many cavalry to maximize our scores, so one work around is injuring excess cavalry and leaving them in your infirmary during Viking

How to safely injure excess cavalry:

    1. Determine how many excess you'll have
      • know your march size (a)
      • divide your total infantry by number of marches to get infantry per march (b)
      • subtract (b) from (a) to determine how many cavalry per march (c)
      • multiply (c) by how many marches you have to get total viking cavalry (d)
      • subtract (d) from your total # of cavalry to get how many cavs you need to injure (e)

    Gandalf example

    • know your march size (a).
Gandalf full march of reinforcements = 160,000 (a)

    • divide your total infantry by number of marches to get infantry per march (b).
      Gandalf has 500,000 total infantry and 6 marches, so 500,000 / 6 = 83,333 infantry per march (b).

    • subtract (b) from (a) to get how many cavalry we will need per march (c).
      For Gandalf, (a) - (b) = (c) . 160,000 - 83,333 = 76,667

    • multiply (c) by how many marches you have to get total viking cavalry (d).
      For Gandalf, 76,667 x 6 = 460,002.

    • subtract (d) from total # of cavalry to get how many cavs to injure (e)
Let’s say Gandalf has 600,000 cavalry total. 600,000 - 460,002 = 139,998 cavalry that Gandalf should injure for Viking event.

    1. Injuring them
      • find a partner who's stronger than you (one of you needs to leave the alliance or find a friend in another)
      • place a tent of no heroes and 50k cavalry (only cavalry) and have them hit it with a full march with heroes
-> read the report for how many you had injured in the hit
-> take your excess number of cavalry and divide it by how many were just injured (this is how many tent hits you'll need of 50k cav)
      • repeat the tent hit using 50k cav until you have reached just over your excess

    2. if you have more injured than needed
      • find the difference
      • heal ONLY the difference

    3. Send out marches using number of infantry and cavalry determined in step 1
      • each march will be FULL so make sure you're sending to cities that have enough room in their embassy

Remember: Injuring troops with tent hits only injured them, so no one has to permanently lose troops for this😉 (as long as your infirmary has space)
